Hard Rock Bet Online Casino Launches in Michigan Through Island Resort Partnership
The second iGaming state to launch Hard Rock Bet's online casino platform is Michigan.
The Hard Rock Bet online casino and sportsbook began accepting bets in Michigan on Tuesday. Nearly 3,700 online casino games, including slot machines like Huff n' Puff, live-dealer table games, and classic interactive table games, are already available to Michigan iGaming users.
Hard Rock Bet Jackpots, a progressive 10-cent side bet on each slot machine play that qualifies the spin to strike a small, minor, major, or mega-jackpot, was the online casino's first offering. The payouts roll with each spin, with initial jackpots ranging from $7 to $5,000.
Online sports betting and Michigan iGaming are only available to residents of the state who are at least 21 years old.
Tribal Collaboration
Subsidiaries of Hard Rock International, the Seminole Tribe of Florida's hospitality and gaming empire, own and run Hard Rock Bet. The tribe partnered with the Hannahville Indian Community to enter the Michigan casino market.
The Island Resort & Casino near Harris, in the Upper Peninsula, is owned and run by the Hannahville Indian Community. With 450 hotel rooms, an RV park, 36 championship golf holes, a spa, a saltwater pool, and seven eateries and bars, the resort is owned and run by a tribe. The casino features a sportsbook, a bingo area, over a dozen table games, and 1,150 slots.
Following the dissolution of the tribe's partnership with Churchill Downs and its TwinSpires, Hard Rock Bet has become Island Resort's new iGaming partner. In July, Hannahville stopped providing online gaming.
Michigan has surpassed New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the US iGaming market, which is restricted to just seven states, as Casino.org reported last month. Online slots, table games, and poker rake brought in $278.5 million for Michigan's online casinos in October. In October, iGaming brought in $251.1 million in Pennsylvania and $260.3 million in New Jersey.
The Hard Rock Brand
Hard Rock is one of the most well-known iGaming brands.
The iGaming platform enters a crowded but lucrative online casino sector that is presently dominated by BetMGM and FanDuel, the partners of MotorCity and MGM Grand Detroit, respectively. Due to their collaboration with the Bay Mills Indian Community, DraftKings is a distant third.
Hard Rock Bet reported $127.7 million in iGaming income through October 2025 in New Jersey, the only other state where the company operates an online casino. FanDuel ($533.3 million), DraftKings ($467.9 million), BetMGM ($308.4 million), Borgata ($209.1 million), and Caesars Palace ($165.7 million) were behind.
The Hard Rock Bet online sportsbook is available in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia in addition to New Jersey and Michigan, where it offers online sports betting and iGaming.
